Compatible Music clambers to the fore once again, the soaring imprint led by Sebastian Markiewicz from whom the next beautifully distended EP comes.
Title track ‘Balloons’ is the first of a brace of originals and bears the hallmarks of Manchester resident Markiewicz. Awash and popping with deep-seated frequencies and powerful percussion, this eery, clandestine underbelly juxtaposes with a plethora of emotive harmonies and melodies to provide stunning contrast.
‘In The Flash’ completes the package, not lacking in Markiewicz’s customary groove and drive aimed squarely at dancefloors for the discerning. There are hints of euphoria and grandiose owing to behemothic melodic musings, although focus on the subaqueous is never sacrificed.
