David is a well-respected electronic music producer and DJ from California, known for his passion for dark and underground music. He began his clubbing journey at New York’s Twilo in the 1990s and has since gained a reputation as one of California’s key players in the underground scene.
As co-owner of the Superfreq brand with Mr. C, David has helped bring their underground ethos to label showcases and events, as well as releasing many successful tracks. The label has a distinct sound that reflects the playful, mischievous, and haunting nature of their events, and David serves as A+R, discovering new talent.
Superfreq’s sound encompasses deep house, house, acid house, tech house, techno, and electro, and their focus on cutting-edge, tripped-out soundscapes has kept them at the forefront of modern dance music.
David is a regular on the lineups and showcases at events around the globe, including Sisyphos in Berlin, Zoo Project Ibiza, Desert Hearts, Fabric London, Lightning in a Bottle, Burning Man, Resolute New York, and the BPM Festival in Mexico.
In addition to coordinating Superfreq events in Los Angeles and London, David takes a “less is more” approach to production, releasing quality over quantity.
He has released music on a number of labels, including Desert Hearts Black, Resolute, Riff Raff, Veryverywrongindeed, Design Forms, We Are Here Music, AA Trax Records, and Compatible Music. David has collaborated with artists such as Dance Spirit, Mikael Stavostrand, and Lee Reynolds.
One of his notable works includes a remix of “Le Dot” on Compatible Music’s release, “Unexpected”. Despite being surrounded by overhyped Instagram DJs, David remains true to his calling, earning the respect of his peers and cementing his place in the underground music scene.
David’s unwavering dedication to the underground scene and his drive to showcase unique talent has established him as a passionate force in California’s electronic music community. As he continues to push boundaries and collaborate with like-minded artists, there’s no doubt that David will remain a prominent figure in the world of underground electronic music for years to come.
